I have a plenty of knit fabrics in my fabric drawer. Some I purchased then forgot about that for long time, and some were given to me by my old friend in Japan. The friend used to make clothes for her daughters. Now her girls are all grown up and not wearing clothes which are their mom's handmade so much. She still had a plenty of quality Japanese fabrics in a box she wouldn't use anymore. So it was a few years ago, I flew back to the US from Japan carrying a box of fabrics! This week I made a half sleeve raglan T-shirt for myself with knits in my stash. I drafted a pattern using a (non-raglan) T-shirt that I like its shape as a template. I am sure many many crafty bloggers already shared tutorials of making T-shirt based on what you already have in your closet. <strike>But I think I am going to share my version of brief tutorial in the next post. Because it is an easy and quick project. I guess some of my readers would like to know how I did it. </strike>
Nina's "Olinda"Finally!! I can share the photos of finished "Olinda" today. I added many more buttons and made the sleeves much longer than the original design. That was Nina's requests. Somehow she likes long long sleeves for her cardigans and sweaters. It seems we endured through the coldest time of the year. I see grey sky that looks almost crying today but it is OVER 50°F (unbelievable!!!). Yesterday was a little cooler but a super bright beautiful day. I am so happy to see the thick snow melting and water dripping from the icicles. Meanwhile I am hoping to have some more slightly cold days so Nina can enjoy wearing her new cardigan. My Ravelry project page is here.
I'm shocked to know that it took five whole months!! I allowed this project to go slow because I had several deadlines and so many other things to do (as always) . Even so, five months is too long. Finally it's finished last week! I still need to block this lovely piece though, I am so happy about the look of this cardigan. I used this beautiful pattern Olinda by Georgie Hallam. My project page in Ravelry is here. I should have filled all the information in the project page about the yarn I used and other stuff. I will try to fill it and update the photos of finished piece soon. This seems complicated at first glance. But actually it is not. The twisted patten is made by repeating a simple stitches which is not hard to memorize. Well, you may need patience to finish since the cardigan is covered with this twisted pattern all over. For me, it was fun to see it growing little by little. Now I need to decide what project I am going to knit from now. Knitting is addictive. Once you start, it is hard to quit. I want to knit a Spring garment for myself. It is also a very fun time to surf around looking for a pattern to knit for next.
This cardigan was top-down and sleeves are knitted continuously from the york. As the piece grows longer it gets heavier. It is tiresome to hold and rotate that heavy body as you knit sleeves. So I kept the body part in my reversible Azuma-Bukuro (Japanese traditional tote bag) . It made my work much easier. This bag is very handy and versatile. I also use this as a project bag. I hope I can write the tutorial of how to make this tote bag soon.
Currently I am working on writing a new scarf knitting pattern. I will share the completed free pattern of this lacy scarf pretty soon. I know that Spring is just around the corner in some regions in the US. So maybe it will be too late for some of you. But I hope about a half of you are still in the middle of Winter just like I am. And many many people in the Southern Hemisphere are just started thinking about knitting a scarf or two before the cold weather will arrive. This pattern requires only a few stitches. If you are looking for an easy scarf pattern, please stay tuned.
The last bag is slightly larger than the other two. The hidden heart on this bag is filled with vines, leaves and tiny flowers on wool fabric. I used fine embroidery wool thread, sequins and beads in the design.
This is it!! I had fun working on three different embroidery designs. These were all sort of improvisations. They are certainly one of a kind. I love to wear one as a cross body bag. It is functional and also stylish. I think these bags would be flattering for all ages. Sorry I don't have any photos of a person wearing them. I will update the photos when I have a chance to shoot someone (or myself) wearing one!

Kiss lock frame purses feel retro but also are reviving in fashion now. My first memory of a kiss lock purse was a coin purse my grandma had. I believe the purse was beads crocheted. It was made with shiny iridescent beads. She gave us, her grandchildren pocket money from the coin purse to buy some candies or something. We only could visit our grandparents once in years and they have passed away when I was still very young so a few things I remember about them are valuable for me. Somehow the shine of the beads are remaining very clearly in my mind.
We are in a huge snow storm today and maybe though Monday. The snow is very deep but the wind is not that bad as it has been predicted (so far!). I don't hate to have a couple of deep snow days in a year. It is so beautiful outside. What is your weekend like? I hope you have a beautiful Sunday. Thank you for reading.Hiromihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06936019717685985936noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7146578156908195606.post-63047943783783805402015-01-27T16:49:00.000-05:002015-01-27T16:49:52.790-05:00Hide My Heart ⅡThere are two more purses in my "Hide My Heart" series. This is the second one I am going to share today. I had this cool woven "Cross" pattern upholstery fabric. I played a bit with the pattern with some cross stitching. This is the same technique as chicken scratch. Using one of the colors in the base fabric pattern for stitching, and cross out over the other colors to make the hidden hearts appear. I used dark brown floss to cross stitch over lighter colored crosses. Do you see my hidden hearts on the purse now?
From here this is a brand new project I am working on right now. I am drawing roses with needle and thread!! I want to make it look like a fine pen drawing. So I use only one strand of #25 embroidery floss. I have tried two strands and other stitches and I didn't like them. Finally I found the right way. It is a time consuming project but also fun to make it as I hope by trial and error (only when it doesn't have deadline, I guess :p).

It has been three weeks after schools resumed. The Spring semester of Nina's ballet class just started yesterday and the school play practice will be starting on Friday (Nina got a lead role in the play!! We are so excited!)...... Looks like our life has finally come back to the routine. There are some new things going on in our house as well. We started remodeling the master bath a couple of weeks ago. I cannot wait to finish this project and take a wonderful soaking bath (it will be Japanese style!) in the beautiful room. I am afraid that will be a few month away from now.......

Thank you for reading. I hope you all started a good week. Happy embroidering!!
The theme is "Hidden Heart". This purse is one of them. Well, in this one the hearts are not really well hidden (;p), though. The long chain handle allows you to use this as a shoulder bag or a cross-body purse. I combined felt applique, beads and wool stitches together on a wool fabric which has some gold sparkles in it.
We barely finished the gifts for Nina's ballet teachers by the last lessons. I also wanted to give some hand bags for my friends who have been really helpful for years. I couldn't make it by Christmas but I finished it just a couple of days ago and finally gave the bags to the friends.

For this one below, I used some remnants of Kimono fabrics from the bags I made for December consignment. This friend, the recipient of this gift told me she liked the fabric when she saw that. I made it with a kiss lock frame and a chain handle. Kimono silks are good enough for formal occasions.
The main fabric for the next one is a felted old Nordic sweater. Felting a sweater (it has to be made of 100% wool) is pretty simple. I wash a sweater with hot water and laundry detergent in my washing machine then dry in my dryer. I used a pair of leather handles and a aluminum tubular spring frame. The felted thick fabric and leather handles made this bag durable. It opens wide and has a large bottom gusset so this bag can hold a lot of things.
These women live sustainable lives enjoyably. They are very good at
giving new lives to old things. The way how they live is a good example
for people including myself who want to live greener without any
pressure. Reusing old Kimono and sweaters is a perfect gift theme
for them.

From here I am going to show the items Nina and I made together for her teachers. These two cosmetic pouches below are the gifts for Nina's ballet teachers. Nina did cross stitched their initials for the first time! I think they look great for the first time.
I am so grateful that in 2014 my family has been all safe and healthy. And I had a very busy full year both in my private life and the crafty world. We had the beautiful no-snow first day of 2015 (Wow! it is so rare!! I don't really mind having a green Christmas and a new year day once in a while ^o^).

We spent a very quiet day in the house with only three of us. We had an annual, traditional Japanese new year meal for a brunch. I only prepared a bit of dishes this year but it was good enough for three of us. I am trying to modify our special new year meal adapting to our lifestyle and taste. I think I will add some more non-traditional dishes which everybody loves.
I don't make new year's resolutions. But one thing in blogging, I'll try to post more craft tips and tutorials this year. Let's keep crafting and having fun friends! And of course, I wish all of you a healthy and wonderful new year!! ox

Hiromihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06936019717685985936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7146578156908195606.post-61927753930615583702014-12-11T09:36:00.001-05:002014-12-11T10:34:28.123-05:00Dainty and Sophisticated. Jewelry for her.My daughter's ballet "the Nutcracker" production has opened last Saturday and it goes on until Sunday. It is the busiest time of the year for us. Especially this year is the craziest because I am volunteering much more as a seamstress than I was in any past years. Plus, I needed to finish numbers of items for consignment and also my writing deadline was yesterday. Oh my goodness, I barely accomplished the last two missions by yesterday. Though sewing hooks onto tutus, altering soldier dolls' uniforms and Arabian dancers beaded belts, etc....are still going on until tonight (hopefully!).

After all, fortunately this morning I am able to take breath and have time to finish sharing my recent work with you. I made lots of new bracelets. This time I focused on Macrame technique using delicate strings and beads. The finished bracelets look dainty and sophisticated. I am happy with the result. I hope these will be given to precious women this Holiday season. I would love to see these on their wrists.

We had lots of snow in November but there is none right now. This morning my daughter just said she wants some snow for her Nutcracker production week. I think, I can survive without having White Christmas once in years. ;p

I hope you have a good weekend. Please stay warm. Thank you for reading.

Hiromihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06936019717685985936noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7146578156908195606.post-51430673938293933342014-11-25T09:03:00.000-05:002014-11-25T09:05:09.736-05:00Kimono textile totesHello folks! Like I wrote in the last post, today I am going to share the photos of two Tote bags made with Japanese antique and vintage Kimono textiles. I patched several Kimono remnants together and embellished them with Sashiko and beads. I hope that gave some interesting elements to these bags.

The tote #1, I used three different Kimono silks. I picked red and green Japanese medium weight cottons to combine with those beautiful Kimono silks. Because there are red and green in the design of the silks. But just now, I found that's a Christmas color combination!! Which I have never meant it.

One side. I love this beautiful flower pattern. Chrysanthemums and Japanese apricot flowers are symbols of happiness and longevity. The leather handles are firmly attached with hand stitches.

The other side. I added simple Sashiko stripes on the cotton. This side looks very different from the other side. It is like you have two different bags in this one tote.

The Tote #2 (below). This is made with cottons and linens. It is not as fancy as silk fabrics but I like the natural, artless feeling of the woven (Kasuri) patterns.

This is the other side (below). I stitched tiny beads along the stripes. The cotton for the lining is not an antique or vintage. But it has a Japanese traditional arrow motif called "Ya-gashuri". I also added two strings on the sides. By tying the strings you can make the bag compact. The shape of the bag transforms into a cube(ish). Both totes have magnetic closures.

I love to play with patchwork. Especially when I pick out fabrics to put together. When I only have limited amount of materials, sometimes I find very interesting fabric combinations that I have never thought of . Since my collection of antique/vintage Kimono textile is not so big. But I like it. It is like solving a subtle puzzle.

I will write about some jewelries I made recently next time. It is shocking to me that Thanksgiving comes in only two days. It seems my time flies faster than others'!! I hope you all in the US have a safe, happy Thanksgiving. Folks in other places in the world, please have a beautiful week.
Hello there!! How have you been?

I cannot believe it is still before Thanks Giving. Because we have this much of snow(!!) since last Thursday. It is unusual. We all feel like it's already Christmas time. Many schools in Michigan close to the state border were closed yesterday. (Our schools in South Bend IN weren't.)

It has been super cold BUT I am not hibernating yet!! (Sorry for being so quiet for long time.) I have been working so so hard to produce many items for consignment. They are now all on sale at our fabulous local vintage boutique JUNK EVOLUTION. I am the artist of the month and they prepared this beautiful large table for me. I set up all the stuff I brought in yesterday and it looks fantastic!
These two projects look very different. But there is a hidden theme common to them. Can you tell?

You remember this polka dots!! Yes I really love this Japanese half
linen dots. I always look for them when I go back to Japan. I shaped
flowers by stitching around polka dots. Similar technique to chicken
scratch.
This project below is a combination of applique and beads embroidery. I love
doing applique. It is so much fun! To me, it is just like drawing or painting. The back ground fabric is a quality wool from a long winter coat. I enjoy Beads embroidery as well though it takes much more time than applique.
I think you already got an idea about the hidden theme. Yes, it is "Dots!!". Well, to be honest I haven't thought of it at all until I started thinking about the title of this post! (;p)

My recent work is mostly making items for sale. I am hoping that I will be able to reopen my Etsy shop soon. Also I try to make pretty things for Holiday gift shoppers in the town. It's hard to find time to do this but I will try as hard as I can!! What are you working on now?

We went apple picking to Garwood Orchard in La Porte. Apple picking is the best activity for us in early September. We tried this orchard for the first time and it was one of the greatest orchards in the region. It was a huge, beautiful, and very family friendly fun farm. They also have many kinds of vegetables and berries for U-pick. We got tons of apples in a several varieties.
The leaves started coloring here in Northern Indiana. It is sad to know the Summer is surely over. But Fall is filled with the beauty of the nature. It is the time of harvest. What are you going to harvest this Fall?
I hope you are having a wonderful week.
I am knitting this cardigan pattern (Olinda by Georgie Hallam) for Nina. Also an adult cardigan for myself is on my needles. For mine I have lace weight. The pattern is more complicated than Nina's. So I think I am going to finish this first. Lace pattern is really fun to knit. Though I sometimes miss just simple stocking stitches, or garter stitches which I can knit watching my favorite dramas or movies.
Japanese knitting and crocheting magazine "Knit Marche" vol.18" is now on the market. I am writing two pages serial articles in this magazine titled "手芸家のアメリカ暮らし / Designer's life in America". In this issue I wrote about sock knitting with circular needles. It is always hard to put many ideas together in only two pages. I tried to make it more intelligible with some photos and my own illustrations. I hope that will interest many new sock knitters in Japan and bring them simple pleasures of sock knitting.

There are many cute designs and patterns in the issue. You can see photos of items in this issue here.
"How can you make a knot so quick? It looks like a magic!" I was asked the same question at the last workshop I had in July and I answered. So I think I am going to tell my secret to make a knot on the end of the thread with a VIDEO!! This is my very first time to post a sort of tutorial video. Yei!

It doesn't seem so quick? OK, I am doing it very slowly here in the video for you to see well! It really save time when you need to make knots again and again! I hope you like it.
I hope you had a great start of the week.

Some people asked me about how I crocheted the Flower Garden Granny Square Bag handles. So I write a quick tutorial today.

Hook : 4mm (Japanese size7) for 5" square.
Yarn : 4 ply worsted weight cotton yarn ( Sugar'n Cream from Lily).

Row1 : ch 71, sc in the second ch from the end. sc in each ch to the end (70 sc total).

Row2&3 : ch1, sc in each sc from previous row to the end.
My handle measures 50cm (about 20"). Make two handles and sew them on your FGGS bag body.

Thank you for your interest in my Flower Garden Granny Square pattern. Please do not forget to upload the pictures of your finished FGGS Bag to FGGS Flickr group! You can share any items made with the FGGS pattern. I am looking forward to seeing them!!
I'll tell you about them soon. What pretty things do you have? Thank you for visiting. Please have a good day.Hiromihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06936019717685985936noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7146578156908195606.post-34663092983241373542014-08-19T10:59:00.000-04:002014-08-19T11:02:49.439-04:00Rope Basket Making ClassThe end of July, I taught a class of rope basket making at Junk Evolution. When I saw this "rope coil vessels tutorial" at a very talented artist Lisa's beautiful blog "the red thread" I was absolutely fascinated with it. I couldn't help rushing out to find a cotton clothesline! Before long, when I was asked to teach a class by Char, one of the owners of Junk Evolution, I thought this must be a perfect project for a one day (actually it was about two hours ;D ) craft class for everyone. I made a few basket beforehand and figured out some easier ways for me to make them in the process. So I changed a several things in my instructions for my class.

There were six wonderful participants. They were absolutely nice and brilliant ladies. we worked in the store surrounded with neat vintage furniture and many other cool stuff. (Their theme of August is "Mid-century-modern" which I definitely adore!)

I brought embroidery threads in lots of colors. The container full of beautiful threads was a Christmas gift for me from Char. It made our project much more fun!
It was so interesting to me seeing the colors they chose. I discovered that some new color combinations (which I usually don't pick out) were actually very pretty.

Orange and Gray.

And combining similar colors always gets a good result.

These are the samples I made. Yellow+gray is my recent favorite colors. (It's weird that yellow hasn't been my favorite in my life. People's taste changes sometimes.)
No one could finish their work in the class. They took materials home to finish their baskets. They might have made another one at home. I think everyone in the class had a good time and I hope that you enjoyed reading this as well.

School will resume tomorrow. I am glad to get back to my normal schedule and spend more time for myself but in the meantime I feel sad a little bit that the Summer will be gone soon.

I hope you are having a good Summer as we are. Thank you for reading. Happy basket making!!Hiromihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06936019717685985936noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7146578156908195606.post-37122440937072396052014-08-06T15:52:00.000-04:002014-08-06T16:09:13.770-04:00Catching up
Hello Folks! So so so long time no seeing you! How have your Summer (and Winter) been? Some of you maybe are questioning if I have been sick or there was some big drama going on in my life. And I cannot keep my blog anymore? No need to worry! I am still here being fine (except for my chronic migraine) and so are my family members.

Oh my....... a whole month of July is missing on this blog! I've been so busy for so many reasons since the last post. I have to make it up so today's post will be all about catching up. I'll try to go through just briefly but it might be boring for some people who expect only crafty stories. For those readers, please just skip reading this. The next post would be something crafty. I'll try.

I don't know where to start. So I just tell you the story following my July calender. As soon as the new month of July started the big storm hit our region. It came in the night before the first day of the month and we lost the power. And that wasn't only thing we lost that day. So many trees in the town have knocked down. Our favorite big tree as well. Actually the tree didn't fall but had a major damage. Many of you might remember seeing this sugar maple tree in my older posts. The tree had a perfect broccoli-like shape for kids climbing up and hanging ropes and a swing. Thank goodness, it didn't hit the house but now the tree lost that perfect shape. Half of the broccoli is missing. It won't cover my front door with its nice cool shade anymore. I am so sad that the tree looks miserably off balance. It would take decades to grow those big limbs back if it is possible.
This is one of our neighbors' house across the street. fortunately the house didn't get any major damage.

We were planning to finish lots of home improvements by middle of July. Because we had my family came to visit us from Japan!! Surprisingly, it was the first time that my family visits us since we moved to the US about nine years ago! So that was very important event for us that we wanted to welcome them in our home nicely finished. But everything got behind of our schedule because of the storm. (there were a several more reasons but I cannot even remember anymore!) Then just in time, we made it and finally had a great week with my family. (I will write about the week with my family sometime later. That post will be a nice little travel guide of South Bend and Michiana area.)
My dad, sister, brother-in-law and niece. In front of the beautiful historical building "Tippecanoe Place" in South Bend.

Nina wanted me to make another doll which just looks like hers for her cousin Momo (she is Nina's best friend) to play together. So I finished another adorable doll a couple days before Momo's arrival. (Hope I could write about that later too.)
Also, I had a deadline for writing an essay for a magazine. I wrote two pages of the article, knitted three pairs of socks and took many many pictures for this work. I was going to finish it before the arrival of my family but like as most of the time, my editor needed something more for the pages so I needed to work for some more hours when I have the guests in my house. (Now, it's over!!! It always makes me feel funtastic when I realize that I don't have any deadlines ahead!)
On the same day when my family left to Japan (it was a sad day!) we had my husband's brother and his wife came to visit the family in Michiana and they stayed in our home for three nights. There was no interval between two groups of the guests. I wish I had more time to tidy up the house before the second guests' arrival. But anyways I am glad we made it at long last and it went pretty well.

Meanwhile, I had to prepare stuff for the workshop which was scheduled right after that. This time I was going to teach basket making. when I have a class, I prepare materials ( I need to have everything divided for each students to make the class as efficient as possible because I usually don't have less time than I need) , tools and the original instruction written and drawn by myself. I had six wonderful participants in the class and we surely had a good time making and chatting. I am going to write about this too. And also this class gave me an idea that I should write tutorials of several different basket making I have ever done.
Finally this long story gets to the final chapter. Unbelievably it became August. I could have peaceful days from now on, I thought.......
They are in the color called periwinkle. I believe they are vintage but am not sure. If there is someone knows vintage Fiesta very well please let me know about these. I checked the prices of all of these online and I found that I payed only about 20% of the market price in total. "this must be my very lucky day!"....... I thought.

In the afternoon of that day, we had Nina's friends came over to our house. They were going to play in the basement. THE BASEMENT which we just refinished a couple weeks ago to welcome the family. Kids turned on the light switch of the basement. Then they yelled.

"Mr.Tim! You have your basement FLOODED!!!"

Oh man, wasn't it my lucky day? We had about 80% of the basement floor covered with about 1/2" of water. It was from my old washing machine which came with the house. The whole drain water came out the broken hose (or something). If you have had a flood in your home you would know how much that make you down! We had three floods in our basement including this. We are pretty much experienced. (which I don't want to be experienced at all.) But still..... it dragged us down.

Well, now the basement is dry but you can imagine how hard my husband and I had to work on it. It ruined our rest of the weekend, of course. And I am still way behind on my schedule of everything.

That is the story about why I could not update blog so long. I am sorry about that but I think now you understand the situation and even be moved with sympathy. (Because you are so nice! Ha-ha-ha.) I am hoping our rest of the month will go well and I'll feel lucky again. Well, I think I am generally lucky person because my family is healthy and you are here to read my story.

Thank you so much for reading such a long clumsy post. Hope you have a great week!
Finally, the school year is over. This winter was really long and cold here in Michiana. Our school had six snow days. That's exceptional. We rarely have more than three snow days usually. So we had three make up days through the Spring semester and even in June we had three more. That is why our Summer vacation started late this year. Yesterday was the last day of my daughter's third grade year. It has been pretty busy and messy around here as you may imagine. And you know, today is not just a first day of Summer vacation. It is the first day that Moms get busier and messier. Before my hair gets disheveled too much I would like to share things recently happened around my sweet girl.

She had a small piano recital. She played five songs. It wasn't perfect but she did pretty good. Surprisingly she never gets nervous before the events like this. Piano recitals, ballet performances, school talent shows, and so on. I guess that is a good thing, right? She could be something. Maybe....
She had worked hard on her school project in May. It was "Living History Museum". Every student pick one famous person in American history and research about the person. Then they present the result in front of parents and teachers pretending they are the persona they have in their reports. The picture below is Nina painting her background. Her famous person in American history was BILLIE JEAN KING. I whipped up a skort from her old uniform shirt two days before the presentation. I needed to buy big framed glasses and deliver to Nina at school that day. I could not find an appropriate pair of fake glasses so I just grabbed a biggest pair of sunglasses from a store rack then ran to school. The glasses sorta look weird but she did great anyways.
Can you tell who is who? This was really a fun event and kids did very well. I think this was a very good way to learn history. Nina even remembers other students' persons' life histories. That is great.
Nina's 9th birthday was May 15th as I told you in this post . We usually have her birthday party right after school is over. But this year we had it the last weekend of school year due to the snow days make up. We had over twenty guests at St.Patrick's county park. This was the first time for us to have a party at park, and we liked it very much. St.Patrick's park is a beautiful place and very well maintained. We went skiing there many times this Winter and there are nice skiing (trekking) trails in the woods.
The last weekend of May Nina's ballet school and company had the Sleeping Beauty ballet performances at DeBartolo performing arts center at Notre Dame University. I have been watching their productions for five years and this one was my most favorite. We are very fortunate to have such a good ballet school in the region. Nina is pretty much enthusiastic at ballet so far. I am not going to force her to keep going forever, but to be honest, I sometimes dream to see her dancing a main roll on stage someday. (I majored in dance and theater. After graduating college I worked as a dancer for a while. That made me a ballet Mom!)
Nina (and I) made a thank you gift for her teacher. A "stuffed teacher" is the thing we make occasionally. I attended the assembly to see Nina received some awards and celebrate that our school year was successful. I cannot believe that she is already going to be a forth grader next year. The parents her graders' started worrying and talking about which middle school we should apply for two years later. That is going to be a big decision.
I am glad we had another great year in school. We will enjoy the Summer in Michiana more than usual. Because we are not going to Japan to see my family. They will be coming here!! My Dad and sister's family will stay for about a week ( I know! It's too short! But it is really hard for my sister and brother in law to have a long vacation. ) We are looking forward to it. I always wanted to show them how I live in this country. It has been nine years. It was a long time.
As I mentioned before in this post, I am writing serial essay in Japanese popular knitting and crocheting magazine Knit Marche. I am now working on the next issue and I need your help!! The theme is sock knitting this time. My editor and I are thinking to have some images of knitted socks by sock knitters in the world on my pages in the next issue. This issue will be coming in September so right now this is the time for us to collect and integrate all the materials we need for the issue in a couple weeks.

Do you want to show off your masterpiece in Japanese knitting magazine? Do you have an adorable pair of socks you've finished recently? It doesn't matter what knitting skill level you are in. We want to share with Japanese readers that how sock knitters in the world enjoy knitting socks. If you are interested in this project, please let me know by sending email to me at {harujiondesign at gmail dot com} with some information about you that I listed below. I will get back to you soon with more detail.

***Please include in your email
a) Your name
b) Where you live in
c) What technique you use for knitting socks (DPN, One or more circular needle(s), Magic loop, 2-at-a-time, Toe-up, Cuff-down, etc....)

If I got more applicants than we need, I will need to pick one or two applicants from them. What I will ask the selected applicants are a few images of your socks and maybe a picture of you knitting socks in action. That would be much greater! Also there will be a survey with a few questions.

When the magazine is out I will post about that in this blog and send a copy of the issue from Japan to the cooperator(s). I hope many of you are interested in this and look forward to hearing from you!

It is raining pretty hard here now and we have leaks from the ceiling in our kitchen (;_;)....... This is not a very happy day for us but I wish you have a beautiful Wednesday. Thank you so much.
